Greeting you at the entrance are sights the harsh winters make you long for:
Daffodils, camellias, and  fountains indicative of the gardens in the
 Carolina Heartland

The gardens of the Carolinas Heartland
Enjoy the shade of the grand weeping willow and century old trees spangled in Spanish moss.
Through the sweeping branches of the weeping willows and magnolias you can admire bursts of colors from the spring flowerbeds.

Follow the winding path garnished with azaleas and narcissus,
Let them lead you to a pond filled with water lilies, adorned  with a beautiful southern gazebo, flower cart, benches, statues, and a garden of wild orchids and lush tropical vegetation.

Serve as a backdrop for your southern picnic
No matter where you travel in the Heartland of the Carolinas

The Scenic Blue Ridge Mountains
Slow down and enjoy life,
stimulate the senses with dazzling waterfalls, sparking lakes and rivers,
 lush forests embracing  lovely valleys.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery with endless intriguing rock formations.
 
You will see a large Carolina mountain display with our
 Charming A - Framed mountain cabin nestled within tall trees and peaks.
Other sites you’ll see here are
Birds, Berry shrubs
Wild flowers and Flowering Dogwoods  (the State Flower)
 
Get hooked on delicious mountain trout
from our mountain streams and brooks displayed in the forest trails
Buffets will be decorated with wild flowers
And trinkets from the Carolina Indian heritage
(Cherokee, Catawba, Iroquois, Pee Dee) 
Headdresses, pottery, dream catchers, animal skins, and baskets

“GOLD. GOLD, GOLD“
Historic Reeds Gold Mine is the site of the first documented
 gold found in the US.
You will see at the end of the Carolina Mountain Sets
A gold mine shaft set in the mountainside.
 This display will be trimmed with trees, gold miners shovels & picks,
Lanterns, gold mining pans, wheelbarrows with rocks
And “ fools gold”

The Fabulous Carolina Coast
Then and Now

 The Carolina Coastal Set features our southern fishing village
Including up to 8 character theme buildings.
We will display a huge array of coastal  & nautical Props
You’ll see  --    Piers & docks, pier pilings, crab traps, netting,
 Fisherman prop, ropes, and fishing boats,
 Palm trees & plants
Buffets will feature a separate yet large coastal
Lighthouse & beach display with our large working lighthouse placed amongst the pier pilings and coastal wildlife

Walk the plank
June 18, 1718 the flagship of the dreaded pirate Blackbeard settled to the bottom of the N.C.  Beaufort Inlet.
The Queen Anne’s Revenge was largely undisturbed there for 278 years, until researchers identified the ship and began to explore what remained

Kitty Hawk, North Carolina completes the Coastal Scene
 
When Orville Wright stepped ashore in Kitty Hawk Village in the fall
 of 1900 he probably already knew that he and his brother were destined to make history as discoverers of flight.
 They had chosen the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Kitty Hawk would forever be associated with the Wright Brothers as birthplace of aviation
FIRST FLIGHT
You will see a cut out silhouette- first flight airplane from the Wright Brothers flight
 suspended  with special accent accent lighting
 
A large sign will also be suspended reading

On to the South Carolina Up Country
Welcome to the South Carolina Up Country located in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains where
 Strawberry and peach pickins take place.
Are your taste buds working overtime, now that the strawberries are coming in and peaches are around the corner?
Displays from the upcountry will feature our southern country farmstead sets with white picket fences, rocking chairs,  & southern homespun quilts
With strawberry patches and peach tree sets
Sweet juicy tasty homegrown South Carolina Goodness!

Historic, Charleston, SC
Charleston is often called a “living museum”. Nowhere is this more clearly reflected than in the lovingly preserved houses and buildings still in use today.   We display our rainbow row Charleston houses complete with steps, trees, and flower planters
 
We will also represent the “Creole/low country”
Of the French with
Park benches, café tables and street lamps
And street signs of Charleston

Enjoy a Taste of the Carolinas.
