JIM SHAFER: - (bass guitar and vocals) – Performing in touring stage bands since the age of fourteen and behind the morning show microphone at radio stations all over the country for many years has given Jim much experience to bring to the Band of Gold. He has shared the stage with countless national recording acts, and loves the classic Motown sound.

ROBERT McCLURE: (lead guitar and vocals) – Jimmy Buffett and Tammy Wynette both were so impressed by this guitarists’ talents that he was able to travel the world in concert with both these superstars. A sought-after musician and composer he has appeared on many recording sessions, releasing two albums of his own, and has had artists such as James Taylor record his songs.

GARY “SAXXY G” POTTS: - (sax and vocals) – Gary started performing in High school in Madison, Wisconsin and continued while earning a BA degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Playing with several popular local and regional bands in the Midwest has helped Gary hone his playing and performance skills, as well as develop a high sense of professionalism. Gary has shared stages with great artists such as Lou Rawls, Larry Graham, Stephanie Mills, Rufus, Sha Na Na and the Grass Roots. His smooth style on the sax and vocals is a great addition to the Band of Gold!

ROCCO CEFALO– (keyboards and vocals) – Rocco has a great soulful style, both on the keyboards and as a vocalist. Hailing from Philadelphia, Rocco has been playing professionally all over the east coast, in all styles from blues, to soul, to rock and beach music. He has been in the Charlotte area since 1999, and resides in Concord, NC

LIZ LUKE: - (vocals and percussion) – The Miss Ohio competition for the Miss America Pageant was graced with this beautiful lady's presence and her outstanding singing voice knocked the judges over. "Liz is a nationally recognized and awarded broadcast journalist, and she is currently hosting a morning radio show in the Charlotte market, along with becoming a published freelance writer in the Charlotte Observer and many magazines. She has judged many pageants and talent competitions, and she and her daughter Melody are black belt martial artists.

GERRI FANELLA - (drums ) – Gerri grew up drumming in the jazz and rock clubs of Chicago, and is a welcome addition to the group.......this family man not only performs with the band, but is one of the Charlotte areas' most in-demand percussion instructors, teaching many classes each week. He is a veteran of many styles of music, having performed with many show groups across the country.

The Band of Gold features the greatest hits of all time – music of the Beatles, the Temptations, the Drifters, to name just a few. If you like Mo-Town, 60’s Soul, rock and roll, and Carolina Beach Music, then the Band of Gold is for you!
