Chris Monteith is a native of Bryson City, NC and started karaoke when he was 18 years old. While visiting a karaoke bar in a collage town near Western Carolina University, Chris went to the rock and roll and chose an Elvis Presley recording Suspicious Minds. “He got up and put the moves with the song. He did the leg shakin’ thing.” Monteith said with an Elvis like, boyish grin. “The college kids love it, and I felt dynamite”.
Rumors of his talents soon had him traveling throughout the southeast on a regular basis.
Although Chris bears an uncanny resemblance to the young Elvis, he goes for the king’s fashion flair of the 1970’s and keeps an ample supply of scarves for tossing into the audience or wrapping around the necks of fans seeking a souvenir.
