Billy Scott & The Prophets are well known for such beach music classics as “I Got The Fever”, “California”, “Beach Trip”, “Roll Around Rockin”, and their most recent #1 hit song for 20 weeks on The Rhythm ‘N Beach Top 40 Chart, “My Kind of Girl”, just to name a few.
Billy Scott & The Prophets has been a main staple on the southeastern private party, festival, concert, corporate functions, night club and wedding circuit for over thirty years. In 1967 they opened for The Temptations at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, NC to a sold out crowd of 17,000. This award winning 6-piece dance and show group plays a wide variety of music including beach, blues, Motown, retro, funk and oldies, and are in constant demand.
Billy Scott has been inducted in the Beach Music Hall of Fame, The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, and has a room full of Cammy Awards to his credit. Billy Scott was awarded with three more Cammy Awards on November 11, 2001 at the Alabama Theater in Myrtle Beach, SC. Billy’s hit song “My Kind of Girl” won Song of the Year and Ballad of the Year and Billy Scott also took home the 2001 Male Vocalist of the year award.
