The Wedding Reception

Cocktail "Hour": Light easy music (jazz, classical, ballads, etc.) at low volume level.  J & J Productions will welcome your guests and relate all pertinent information to them

1.Where the gift table is.
2.Where the guest book is.
3.Where the food is and if appropriate have guests help themselves.
4.Where the bar is and to enjoy a cocktail if they wish.
5.Take requests later on for dancing.
6.Provide any and all other announcements necessary to make everyone feel comfortable as we await the arrival of the wedding party.

Introductions: Announced in any number of ways according to your wishes. Formal intros of the Wedding Party, casual intros of Bride and Groom only, or no intros at all if that is your wish.

Meal: After the Wedding Party arrives; the music level goes up a notch (not to the dance level yet, but a tad more energetic to convey the mood of excitement). We begin to set the mood for the rest of the evening by playing adult contemporary music that will not interfere with dining and conversation.Whether it's a small buffet or a full sit-down dinner, we will allow your guests ample time to mix, mingle and socialize in a festive atmosphere, while enjoying their meal.

Champagne Toasts: Usually given by the Best Man. May also be given by the Bride's Father, the Groom's Father and/or any other special person(s). We will get everyone's attention by playing "Fanfare" type music, while we introduce the person making the toast.

Dancing and Partying:  With the wide variety of music in our library, there is no question that everyone's musical preference can be satisfied. We will gladly take requests before the reception and during the actual reception itself. We are experts at reading your guests and keeping everyone dancing all night long! Line dances are always a wedding favorite and we are pleased to provide a wide variety of line dance music to suit your taste, including conga lines and the chicken dance.

The Grand Get-Away: When the reception is over, J & J Productions DJ's can close any number of ways, depending on your wishes. We can have guests form two lines and shower the Bride and Groom with birdseed as they make a mad dash out of the door or we can simply close like a normal party. The choice is yours.

Traditional Dances

• Couples First Dance Together: Bride and Groom dance to their wedding song. The Newlyweds begin the dance alone out on the floor, then we invite the rest of their guest to join in and share in their happiness. "Tradition has it that every couple who joins the Newlyweds on the floor for their first dance will have another year of happiness together."

• Bride/Father Dance: A very tender moment in the reception. The Bride and her Father dance alone on the floor. We can suggest many songs that would be appropriate for this occasion or you can tell us your requests in this regard.

• Groom/Mother Dance: Equally as touching. Same concept as above.

• Cake Cutting: We will bring all guests attention to the wedding cake for this traditionally humorous part of the reception.

• Bouquet and Garter: The highlight of the reception. J & J Productions will have good nature fun with all the guests with tasteful, appropriate songs accompanying the action. All are encouraged to participate.

As a special gift to the Bride and Groom, they will receive a personalized CD, with their names, wedding date and special songs that they requested for their first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance and other selections from the evening.

With over ten years experience performing for hundreds of weddings, the professional, friendly musicians of J & J Productions promise to do everything possible to make your special day a smashing success!

We will work in complete cooperation with you and the entire staff (caterers, photographers, videographers, etc.) to insure that everything runs smoothly and on time.

The ideas offered here are just suggestions, nothing is written in stone. We are very flexible in our format. If you have seen something at another wedding that you would like done at yours or if you don't care for something mentioned, we will be happy to discuss any changes.

Always remember that this is your day.
